✽The Idea
It all begins with an idea. Since I started The Tribe the idea was simple. Provide a service for people in our community who are disadvantaged by connecting them with more services. Then I discovered one problem. All of these services were competing with one another to make a buck. Money. Money was the goal not the service, but surely not all service providers were driven by the Buck alone.
-
✽Tribes
So I started to explore the idea of off shoots from our Tribe. To Train up members, workers, yes indeed warriors to go out on their own when they were ready to start their own Tribe. This was a good idea in Theory but they wanted to take clients and created dissent through this idea. In simple instead of uniting people it divided them again because of money. The almighty Buck.
-
✽The village people
I then tried approaching other providers of service to see if they would like to share services or combine efforts. Almost all of the response in the early years was one of fear or just downright hostility. So I went back to the circle to sit and think.
-
✽cooperation
So what if All the ‘Tribes’ in our region could band to together under one independent flag and share resources. How would this look and how could we make it happen? A group of business’ that are not franchises or off shoots of my Tribe but a conglomerate of Varied personalities under one idea pooling resources, finding real support they could touch and reach out to that was more than jut an online forum.

✽warriors
Then I had a dream.
In the dream I was walking down a path into a village and behind me was my Tribe camped outside the Village. I was arguing with someone vehemently as we wound our way down the path. I could not tell what was being discussed except the last line that I awoke to.
“A village builds idiots, A Tribe makes warriors”!
I began to giggle and then laugh a full throated roar and then I fell out of bed.
-
✽What does it mean?
So what does this dream mean? For a long time I asked myself this question and others around me whenever I got the chance to bring it up. It felt significant, somehow, important like there was a hidden meaning behind the laughter.
You see I think I was being the Village idiot running around trying to manufacture Tribes when they were there all along, ready made ready to go, small independent providers of service who are passionate and don’t have to be about the money, if and this is a big if we can pool our resources and start a Co Op that may well assure our futures against the larger villages.
